Ea Sundström

EA SUNDSTRÖM

Ea Sundström is a Swedish composer, producer and musician working at the intersection of game music, cinematic sound design, and experimental electronic composition. Her work moves between dark atmospheric landscapes and physically driven rhythmic structures, where music and sound design merge into immersive sonic worlds.

Deep in the north of Sweden surrounded by silence, Ea spends much of her time in solitude with her dogs on her 400‑year‑old farm, writing, recording and producing music inside her studio. Long periods disappear into experimentation — layering cello, synthetic textures, distorted rhythms, field recordings and electronic processing into dense and emotionally charged sound worlds.

Classically trained as a cellist and shaped by a background in punk, post‑hardcore and indie music, she blends organic instrumentation with industrial textures and cinematic atmospheres, creating music that feels both visceral and filmic. Her compositions are characterized by strong atmosphere, narrative awareness, and a tactile sense of space, movement and tension.

As a composer for games and interactive media, Ea develops adaptive soundscapes and dynamic music systems that respond to player actions. Her scoring focuses on immersion and dramaturgy, supporting gameplay through evolving textures, tension arcs, and environmental detail. She has contributed original music to multiple game projects at various stages of development, from prototypes to released titles, and continues to expand her work in interactive music design. She has also composed for dance performance.

Alongside her composition work, she performs in the post‑hardcore band Asian Cowboy and has collaborated and performed with artists and bands including Mattias Alkberg and INVSN featuring Dennis Lyxzén, reflecting a wide musical range spanning experimental, electronic, rock and alternative scenes.

During spring 2026, she is releasing a series of singles leading up to her forthcoming album AN JO, released June 12.

The first single, TIRED, introduced the record’s dark electro‑acoustic and industrial sound world. It is followed by DAZED on May 22 and LOAD on May 29. Press, music blogs, radio, curators and other media outlets can request a private pre-listen link to the album.

AN JO deepens Ea’s signature sound — industrial textures, avant‑garde structures, techno‑driven pulse and cinematic atmospheres woven into a body of work that shifts between intimacy and intensity.
