Ea Sundström is a Swedish composer and musician working at the intersection of game music, cinematic sound design, and experimental electronic composition. Her work moves between dark atmospheric landscapes and physically driven rhythmic structures, where music and sound design merge into immersive sonic worlds.
Classically trained as a cellist and shaped by a background in punk and indie music, she blends organic instrumentation with synthetic textures, creating music that feels both visceral and filmic. Her compositions are characterized by strong atmosphere, narrative awareness, and a tactile sense of space and tension.
As a composer for games and interactive media, Ea develops adaptive soundscapes and dynamic music systems that respond to player actions. Her scoring focuses on immersion and dramaturgy, supporting gameplay through evolving textures, tension arcs, and environmental detail. She has contributed original music to multiple game projects at various stages of development, from prototypes to released titles, and continues to expand her work in interactive music design. She has also composed for dance performance.
Alongside her composition work, she performs in the post-hardcore band Asian Cowboy and has collaborated and performed with artists and bands including Mattias Alkberg, INVSN (ft. Dennis Lyxzén) and Raring. reflecting a wide musical range spanning experimental, rock, and alternative scenes.
She also runs her own studio, producing music for both personal and collaborative projects.
During spring, she is releasing a series of singles leading up to her forthcoming album An Jo, set for release in May. The record deepens her signature sound — industrial textures, avant-garde structures, and cinematic atmospheres woven into a body of work that shifts between intimacy and intensity.
